Safety & Fun, fundamentals for Via Ferrata

Life line cable (in steel) is set continuously along the whole itinerary

All climbing facilitating elements (anchors, rungs, handrails, footsteps, etc) should be fixed into the rock with resin

One anchor every 3 to 5 m depending on the landscape. Only one user permitted between 2 anchors

All climbers must use lanyards with integrated energy absorbing system (EAS)  & at least 2 auto locking wide aperture karabiners.

The climber must have permanently one auto-lock karabiner attached to the life line cable

Choose an itinerary according to the climbers’ physical conditions and ask for professional advice while the 1st experience of via ferrata

All via ferrata routes are rated for their difficulty. A grading of 6 levels is used for French via ferrata:
F – easy,  PD – rather difficult,suitable for children & beginners
AD – quite difficult, D – difficult,good for accompanied beginners
TD – very difficult,ED – extremely difficult,for experienced climbers only

Several hundreds of via ferrata routes across the world today, mainly in Europe (> 650) , over 1 M people practices the activity, in family, with friends, in groups, individually …
